Setting it up, in order
Decide whether Roku is the right device for this at all
This is the honest first step and it saves people an evening. Roku is a closed, curated platform: there is no sideloading, the players that exist come and go from the store without notice, and they are cut-down compared with their Android versions. The specific thing you lose is audio-track selection. On most Roku players you get whatever track the feed lists first, with no way to change it. If your household never switches commentary or language, Roku is fine. If it does, read the fourth step before starting.
Look for a player in the Channel Store
Press Home, open Streaming Channels, and search for IPTV Smarters Player, IPTV Player or similar. Add whichever is present. Availability differs by country and changes over time, which is why we will not promise any particular one will be there when you look.
Sign in with the account details
Open the channel you added, choose the Xtream Codes option if it offers one, and enter the username, password and server address from your WhatsApp chat. If the player only accepts a playlist, use the M3U link we send instead. Expect the interface to be plainer than on other platforms; that is the platform rather than the account.
Know the alternatives before you settle
Two routes get round Roku limits. Screen mirroring, under Settings, System, Screen Mirroring, lets you play on a phone or laptop and send the picture to the television: it always works, it ties up the other device, and audio is downmixed on the way. The better answer, if this television is mainly for live television, is a Fire TV Stick on a spare HDMI port for the price of a takeaway, leaving the Roku for the apps it genuinely does well.
Set the audio output on the Roku itself
Settings, Audio, and set HDMI to Auto detect if a soundbar or receiver is attached, or Stereo if the television speakers are doing the work. Roku will not give you per-channel track selection, so this device-level setting is most of the control you have, and it is worth getting right rather than leaving on whatever it shipped as.
Trim the list and build favourites
Roku players scroll slowly and a list of this size punishes that. Hide the groups nobody will open and mark the channels you actually watch. On this platform the difference between a trimmed list and the full one is larger than anywhere else on this site.
Check what you are actually getting
Open a familiar channel and listen. If the channel normally carries commentary in more than one language, note which one you have been given, because that is the one you will keep. Then check a film from the on-demand section. If the result is not what your household needs, the stick in step four is the fix, and it is better to discover that now than during a match.
When something is wrong
The player has vanished from the store
Roku removes these listings periodically. Your account is unaffected and nothing has been lost. Use mirroring in the meantime, or move that television to a stick, which is the permanent answer.
Only one audio track is ever available
That is the platform rather than a fault. Roku players do not expose track selection in the way Android and Apple ones do. Where the channel exists as separate feeds for separate languages, we can point you at both, which is the only workaround that genuinely helps here.
Mirroring plays the picture with no sound
Check the volume on the source device and whether it has been muted by another app. On Windows, the output device sometimes needs setting to the Roku explicitly in the sound panel rather than being picked up automatically.
The channel list takes a very long time to load
Roku hardware is modest and the list is large. Hiding unused groups helps a great deal. If it is still slow, that is the device reaching its limit rather than the account.
4K feeds will not play at all
Only some Roku models decode the codecs these feeds use. Use the HD copy of the channel, which sits beside the 4K one, or watch that channel on a different device.
The player asks for a playlist rather than a login
Some Roku players only accept M3U. Use the playlist link we send instead of the three values. Expect fewer groups and no on-demand section, which is the format rather than the account.

Can you actually get IPTV on a Roku?
Partly, and we would rather say so plainly. There is no sideloading, the available players come and go, and audio-track switching is missing. Mirroring always works as a fallback. Where you have the choice, a stick or a small Android box on that television is the better answer.
Is there a way to sideload on Roku?
Not as a normal user operation, and we do not recommend pursuing it. The developer routes that exist are not intended for this and tend to break with each update.
Will my account work if I switch to a Firestick later?
Yes, immediately. The account is not tied to any device. Install a player on the new device, enter the same three values, and everything including your term and feed count carries over untouched.
Why does the same channel sound different on Roku?
Because you are getting whichever audio track the feed lists first, and a downmix of it if the Roku audio setting is on stereo. On a platform that allows track selection you would be choosing; here you are not.
Is a Roku TV different from a Roku stick?
Not for this. A Roku TV runs the same restricted platform built into the set, so every limitation above applies. The advantage is that a television with Roku built in still has spare HDMI ports for something else.
Will the trial tell me whether Roku is good enough?
It is exactly what the trial is for. Set it up on the Roku, watch the channels your household actually cares about, and see whether the single audio track you are given is the one you want. That answer decides whether to add a stick.
What is the cheapest way round the Roku limits?
A Fire TV Stick on a spare HDMI port. It costs less than a month of most subscriptions, it restores audio-track switching, and it leaves the Roku in place for the apps it handles well. We would rather tell you that plainly than have you spend an evening fighting a platform that was never going to cooperate.
